As I search for painterly form that goes beyond landscape, I’m of course called back to that familiar weight and reliable horizon line. As I’m learning a new way of painting that involves covering up layers of images, I thought I’d share this riff on Landscape Layers that I painted just before CVP began in March.
sky-land-water

rocks over iron over coal

what lies beneath our feet

sea bed under water under sunlight under waves under sky

old fossils under newer ones, rock, soil, field , sky

How wonderful to see your development/exploration on canvas. The rest of us have to rely on words/poetry . . .
Best always,
Sharon
These are fantastic, Patrise!!
